Using creative design solutions, education, and a flexible range of services; we assist clients with a variety of unique projects, goals and budgets to achieve their dreams .Nelson Behr, principal of Design Directive started the firm after more than 17 years of professional experience in a design-build firm. With a degree in Architecture from The Ohio State University and drawing upon the vast knowledge and experience gained from that time, he started Design Directive. With an emphasis on residential design he can share his passion for his work with his clients and collaborate with them to create beautiful homes that meet the needs and budget of the family.We treat each project as a unique challenge with its own set of distinctive design, site, programming, and budget parameters. With services from site selection, programming, schematic design, computer 3d modeling, construction documents, material selection, specification and budgeting for custom homes, additions and remodel we help clients to get a better value and solutions. Educating our clients on the latest building materials and techniques, common sense design ideas, available research tools, alternative methods of managing construction and purchasing of products allows us to ensure they are getting the best value for their hard earned money. We believe in a collaborative approach to design. From the start of the project we work closely with the client, the consultants, and the contractor, believing that open and strong communication among the team members leads to successful projects.We believe that each design must satisfy its intended use, must be technically sound, and must convey aesthetic delight to the homeowner.
