The process of designing a custom home or addition for your existing home involves several phases.1. Client Meeting: This meeting is an opportunity to discuss the followingYour list of requirements, needs, ideas and goals for your project. Feasibility of the project and possible design solutions Issues of style, finish levels and materials Family lifestyle, interests, hobbies and future needs. Potential building, zoning and design restrictions or requirements. Construction budgets, building costs and priorities. Construction management options available. The design process, schedules,and design fees.2. Preliminary Design: This phase includes the following Field measure and photograph your existing home ( For additions & remodels) Verifying local design, building & zoning jurisdictions and requirements Site visit to document site features, views, orientation and amenities, Preliminary floor plan design sketches exploring various design solutions. Meeting(s) to review sketches and discuss the pros and cons of the vaious options. Revisions to first round of sketches, focusing on room sizes, relationships, function and flow. Design Development: This phase includes the following Finalizing designs, details, interior and exterior finishes Create 3d computer model ( if desired ) Coordinate with builder for preliminary budgeting4.
